Constructed in 1916 as the city’s main public library, this beautiful beaux arts building was reimagined in 2003 by Gae Aulenti, the visionary behind the Musée d’Orsay. An architectural gem featuring a blend of traditional and modern design elements, the Asian Art Museum has several event spaces ideal for corporate events, meetings, weddings, anniversary celebrations, and more.

In 2017, the museum embarked on a $90 million transformation project to accommodate large special exhibitions and a growing, vibrant contemporary art program. The Akiko Yamazaki and Jerry Yang Pavilion and the East West Bank Art Terrace, designed by Kulapat Yantrasast of wHY, as well as refreshed collection galleries and public amenities are slated for completion in 2020.
